We tied up at the little doc as Walter and Olga stood facing me. I took off my hat and handed it to him. He put it on. Perhaps it would have seemed like a silly ceremony to anyone looking on to me, to us, it was meaningful. I shook hands with Walter and kissed Olga on the cheek. They turned and boarded the boat, and Jesse and I stood there alone on the dock and watched the Luziero pull away, out into the stream.
