As elections loom closer, I do my best to bring you the information you need to make an informed decision. I ask the candidates the tough questions that the local newspapers don’t seem concerned with and make sure you know who you are voting for. Some candidates consent to the interviews, and some do not. Bob Monetza is one that took the interview opportunity and so I cover some of what he brings to the Grand Haven Mayoral race. He is a little light on specifics, but dismantling DEI was bad for the county. The BOC met last week and discussed the legal counsel and voted to approve more spending on legal counsel. Some complaints are made about the decision, but commissioner Cosby says that she has personally seen some of the changes that they are implementing and that the changes are very beneficial to the county. Obviously, the tribune and the sentinel have done their best to cover this claim, but I cannot find the evidence. Finally, the commissioners vote no on a mental health campaign which seems counterproductive. The sentinel certainly thinks so but is there good reason for that no vote? Maybe.
