God explicitly commanded the Israelites to perform sacrifices and offerings. In the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy, God gave Moses detailed laws regarding the sacrificial system for worship, atonement for sin, and thanksgiving.  God required the Israelites to sacrifice animals for their sins. Instead of being put to death for their sins, God was willing to accept their sacrifices as an atonement for their sins.    The Israelites sinned against God and offered sacrifices in a ritualistic way without proper mercy, obedience and repentance in their hearts.  God expressed His dislike of those kind of rituals by sending word through the prophets.  God really got tired of the meaningless sacrifices of the people.  At the end, God sent His only Son, Jesus, to the world to sacrifice His life and shed His blood for the atonement of our sins.  If people did the sacrifices properly, God did not need to send down His only Son, Jesus, for the most merciless crucifixion.  God does not expect from anyone any more to shed own blood or the blood of animals for the atonement of sins.  Jesus did it once and for ever.  Unfortunately, many people attend the worship and services in the church as an obligation or as a ritual without proper repentance, love of God and humble heart.  If we do not obey God,  keep sinning, and attend the worship like a ritual without putting our heart into it, we cannot expect any more mercy from the part of God.  We have to face the Last Judgment and face the consequences.

Matthew 18:1-10 - The disciples asked Jesus who is the greatest in the kingdom of God.  He set a child before them and said to them,  “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven”(Matthew18:3).“നിങ്ങൾ തിരിഞ്ഞു ശിശുക്കളെപ്പോലെ ആയ്‍വരുന്നില്ല എങ്കിൽ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
Children are innocent, ignorant, curious, and totally dependent on the parents or elders or teachers.  In our relationship with God, we should be totally dependent like children.  Instead of striving to be the greatest in the world, we should simply trust in Jesus, humble ourselves, be innocent like children, do good works and serve others to be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.  Powerful positions on this earth are meant to be positions for serving others.  Also, we should use our influence and resources to serve others.  What is valued in God’s kingdom is loving others selflessly  like Jeus loved us.

We all face failures and disappointments in life. How we handle each situation is very important.  We can allow ourselves to live in frustration for the rest of our life.  Some people take drug or alcohol to forget the mental pain.  It will lead to severe problems in the future.  Some people blame the parents and the forefathers for a curse in the family.  Some people find comfort in telling others about their problems.  None of these things solve our problem, instead, our problem will get worse.  For the best solution we should approach Jesus.  When the disciples failed in catching fish, they just obeyed the instruction of Jesus, even if they did not believe in the beginning.  There are several incidents in the Bible where people got the best results just by obeying Jesus.  We should not doubt Jesus at all.  He has the best solution for all our problems.

The devil’s original name in heaven was Lucifer in Latin which means ‘morning star’(Isaiah 14:12).  He was a high-ranking angelic being and an anointed cherub(Ezekiel 28:12-17).  He was full of wisdom, beauty, and perfection.  His position was exalted in heaven, yet pride and desire to exalt himself above God led to his fall.  After his fall, he has been called ‘the Adversary or the ‘Accuser’(job & Zachariah).  In the New Testament, his name is Satan and Slanderer.  He is no longer Lucifer, but he still deceives by appearing as if he were Lucifer.  He turned from a glorious light-bearer to the ultimate adversary, opposes God and seeks to deceive humanity.  Jesus Christ alone is the true Morning Star(Revelation 22:16) and the true light we can follow without fear.  Satan has been trying hard to deceive and blind the entire humanity, including the Christians.

Even in this modern age, it is hard for a woman from whom demons are cast out to come forward publicly and serve God boldly.  Two thousand years ago, Mary Magdalene could overcome her shame and fear of the public once Jesus interfered in her life.  The life of Mary Magdalene teaches us several lessons about the divine healing power of Jesus, how loving and friendly Jesus is, the positive results of a complete surrender to God, the amazing transformation that can occur in our life through an encounter with Jesus, and the resulting boldness with which we can serve God.  God can save and use us regardless of how unclean, sinful  and worldly we are.  My life also got transformed after one encounter with Jesus thirty one years ago.

Luke 10:30-37 - Parable of the Good Samaritan- a good example of a holy moment.

As answer to a lawyer’s question about who is a good neighbor, Jesus said the parable of  the Good Samaritan.  Robbers attacked a man going from Jerusalem to Jericho.  They stripped him, beat him and left him half dead.  A priest and a Levite passed by him, but they did not help him.   But a Samaritan man felt compassion for him, bandaged up his wounds, put him on his beast,  and took him to an inn.  He stayed with him overnight, paid his expenses, and promised to pay any other expenses incurred when he would come back. Then Jesus asked him,

Luke 10:10: 36 - “Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers’ hands?”കള്ളന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽ അകപ്പെട്ടവന്നു ഈ മൂവരിൽ ഏവൻ കൂട്ടുകാരനായിത്തീർന്നു എന്നു നിനക്കു തോന്നുന്നു?

10:37 - And he said, “The one who showed mercy toward him.”  Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do the same.”37. അവനോടു കരുണ കാണിച്ചവൻ എന്നു അവൻ  പറഞ്ഞു. യേശു അവനോടു “നീയും പോയി അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

What the good Samaritan man did is a good example of a holy moment.  We all should make effort to create more and more holy moments in our life, which is very pleasing to God and which will improve our mental, physical  and spiritual status.

 The Bible emphasizes that reading or hearing the Bible is only the first step.  True spiritual power and blessing come from practicing the word of God.  Jesus, the word of God, was with the Father before the creation of the world.  The Father and the Son Jesus together become one God.  Without Jesus in our life, it is hard to move on smoothly with our life.  When we love Jesus and follow His commands, Jesus and His heavenly Father will come and reside with us.  Then our life will be run by them, not on our own capacity. Then whatever we ask will be given to us.

The Bible is a historical book and   the living, active Word of God.  It is powerful enough to guide our path, protect against deception,  help us to grow in faith and reach the eternal life with God. According to the plan of God, it is made  for the entire mankind to reach salvation.  If we wait too long to know the Bible, we may be unfortunate to find it anywhere as it is prophesied likewise  in the Bible itself .

Acts 9:1-22 - The 1st part is in English, and the 2nd part is in Malayalam starting 13:35 mark.
 Saul was in hearty agreement with the murder of Stephen (Acts 8:1).  After the murder of Stephen, Saul breathed threats and murder against the disciples of Jesus (Acts 9:1).  He went to the high priest and asked for letters to the synagogues of Damascus to bind any man or woman who preached the word of God and bring them to Jerusalem.  While he was approaching Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.  He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him,
