Today we celebrate the Feast of Exultation of the Cross. Fr Glenn reflects on the paradox of the cross where it is not about death but life. Jesus conquered death through the cross, through his resurrection, and gave us life eternal.

It is through the cross that the power of forgiveness becomes real and effective. Let go of our resentment and lighten the weight of the cross by forgiving. When we forgive, we don’t change the past, but we change the future.

All of us have crosses to bear, some more than others. When we struggle with our crosses, remember that others have heavier crosses to bear. Lighten your cross by helping others to carry their crosses and slowly we will find our crosses becoming lighter.

Mary knew the exaltation of the cross. As the perfect disciple, like Jesus, she forgave them for crucifying her son. She knows the crosses that we bear and since she knows our crosses let us pray for her intercession.
