This is my travelling toolkit that I can sling over my shoulder for travelling to jobs and roving about on site. It's a compromise between weight and functionality. At the moment it weighs 5kg (11lbs) which is an acceptable weight for travel.

Although it covers most tasks, there are some bits of equipment that require more specialist tools like circlip pliers and extra long allen keys. But my colleagues usually have a suitable tool on those rare occasions.

My coworkers who spend a lot more time on the road, tend to have full size multi-drawer flight case tool cabinets that get shipped to jobs on a truck and then stored at equipment warehouses when they are not on a specific job.

The military style tool bag was inspired by a maintenance worker at the Plaza shopping centre in East Kilbride. When I was a kid I often saw him walking about with the same style of bag over his shoulder. It's very rugged.
