As sad as it is to say we need to take a break from the podcast. Not only are things getting hectic in our lives but also with work. We will be moving our studio to a better location, and with the holidays coming up there will be a shift that Hannah and Kristoff need to address.

In today's episode, Hannah interviews Kristoff on his mental health background and the times in his life where he noticed it was at its worst. We touch on his family and and influences that he thinks had the biggest part in his mental health decline. Along with being in the ARMY and other occasions that lead to drinking heavily and his insomnia that he experienced. Today, he's doing way better, but for either Hannah or Kristoff, each day is a struggle and a conscious effort of doing better and not falling into old habits. 

We never seem to realize the impact that our childhood has on our lives today. On this episode we dive into Hannahs childhood and her relationship with her Dad. Things get emotional and we discuss some very difficult topics for Hannah and become vulnerable.

Why do we compare ourselves? Who do we compare ourselves to? 

We need to remember that we are all individuals with individual problems and we can't always judge situations by what we see. Kristoff and Hannah talk about the mental toll that it takes on us and why we shouldn't compare our situations to anyone else's.

We have all experienced getting sucked into others problems. Most of us truly want to help, but sometimes their problems start to become your own. It's alright to be helpful but when it starts to affect your mental health is when it's time to focus on yourself. 

It's okay to be selfish and to not let others consume your mental health. We give some examples of this and what we have done to separate ourselves from others issues.

Lots of dynamics come in to play around this season; make sure that you are able to enjoy them without ruining your own happiness along the way.

We can't do this alone, it takes everybody to get the word out and break the social norm that talking about suicide is taboo. The suicide help line is 988. Fear of being criticized can slow you life down to a crawl. And we believe that is a learned behavior from childhood. It can come from your parents or guardian, or from being bullied in school. Whatever the source its good to not let it consume you. 

Not all criticism is bad if you know how to accept it for what it is and not let it consume your whole life.
