In 1 Peter chapter 3, Peter writes on the subject of submission. Children are instructed to obey and submit to their parents. Husbands and wives are instructed to submit to their spouses. All members of the Body of Christ are to submit to each other and to earthly authorities. As each person in the family of God submits to one another in Christian love, the Church functions well and in perfect unity. When the Church is unified, it can fulfill the Great Commission without division and reflect God’s love and glory.
