Lincoln Michel joins me to discuss his second novel, Metallic Realms.
“Half the book is set in the real world, in late 2010s Brooklyn, amongst a group of Millennial struggling writers who are in a science fiction writing collective. And the other half of the book is the science fiction stories that they write. And the whole thing is tied together by this Pale Fire-esque narrator who considers himself the scholar of the science fiction writing collective, and the chapters are him analyzing the stories but then ultimately revealing how the group fell apart and his own hand in that.”
