Meditating on this story of the Nobleman and Christ, though the Nobleman receives what he petitions Christ for, Jesus leaves us wondering 'why we believe', with these words, "...Except you see signs and wonders, you will not believe."  Ask yourself, why do we believe? or, why don't we believe?
