Today, the United States of America are considered a country deeply divided – a development which is, however, not unique to modern times. Historian Prof Dr Jill Lepore from Harvard University discusses this development in her new book which was broadly reviewed in Germany and abroad. The translation of “These Truths” by Jill Lepore was published in the Historische Bibliothek der Gerda Henkel Stiftung - therefore we were given the possibility to talk to the bestseller author in Munich at the publishing company C.H. Beck during her book tour through Germany.
