The Comobuz publisher describes former Columbia Public Schools (CPS)
superintendent Dr. Brian Yearwood as an impressive guy. Dr. Yearwood has been named as the next superintendent of Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) in Louisville, Kentucky. Comobuz publisher Mike Murphy joined host Fred Parry in-studio for the hour Saturday on 939 the Eagle's "CEO Roundtable." Mr. Murphy says district officials in Louisville were impressed with the sharp increase in the annual performance report (APR) for CPS from 70.1 percent in 2023 to 86.5 percent in 2024, under Dr. Yearwood. That's a 16 percent increase. Fred Parry tells listeners that Dr. Yearwood was fired by CPS. Mr. Murphy also updated listeners on the status of the former IBM building on Columbia's Lemone Industrial and businessman Raman Puri's plan to build a convention center near Menards in north Columbia. Mr. Parry and Mr. Murphy also discussed the Comobuz model and they discussed the status of the "Columbia Daily Tribune" and the "Columbia Missourian." Fred tells listeners that it's hard for him to read the Tribune. They also discussed voter interest in Columbia issues, with Fred complaining that 75 percent of registered voters didn't vote in Columbia's April municipal election:
