Listen Up! (Response #2)

Luke 8:1-21

People can have any number of interactions with God’s word, but the question is, ‘How do I respond to it once I’ve heard it?’ In these 21 verses before us the issue at stake has everything to do with ‘hearing’ and rightly responding to what is heard. Remember, Luke wants his readers to be certain about the content of salvation. Not only certain that sinners can be saved by grace through faith in Jesus, but also certain that there is a wrong way and a right way to respond to the Savior’s great salvation. Main Idea—The right response to the Savior’s salvation—hear the word of Jesus and obey it.
