Why are we such poor listeners? Listening is often more difficult that we realize. It's not just about not talking, it's about listening with care and this means we must listen with our heart to the heart of another.

Jesus models this for us in his conversation with the Canaanite woman who had a daughter who was demon-possessed. At first, it looks like Jesus isn't interested ... but at closer examination, we might realize that Jesus was listening. And from there, the whole story changed.
