Today’s affirmation is a listener request. I’ll call this listener A. A is struggling with ghosts of the past that are preventing her from fully experiencing her new beautiful loving relationship. It seems that Black women have been socialized to think that Black love equals struggle love. So once we find ourselves in a beautiful, loving, safe relationship, we keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. Love is supposed to be a safe place, it’s supposed to be a beautiful, positive, respectful experience. A, you deserve to be able to rest in your femininity in your new love. I’ve created this affirmation sequence to help let go of the past and enjoy the present. Repeat after me if you can. Listen and Absorb.
