Money You Should Ask

Literally Broke. Scarlett McCarthy

Listen Later

Writer, playwright, screenwriter, and founder of the financial blog, Literally Broke, Scarlett McCarthy, chats to Bob about how she now consciously manages her money as a creative artist. In 2019 Scarlett paid off 15k in debt on a 35k salary and became passionate about sharing her financial lessons along the way. And it all started with a simple spreadsheet listing out her debt when she realized that something had to change.

Scarlett is a Los Angeles-bred and Brooklyn-based playwright and financial blogger. Some of her plays include: Bury Me In My Leggings (The Tank, Dixon Place), You Are Glowing (Echo Theater Company, NYU), Girls To The Front (semifinalist for the Fresh Ground Pepper PlayLab and Berkeley Rep. Ground Floor), and her monologue “Consultation” was commissioned by the Echo Theater Company for a collection of monologues aimed at sharing the work of emerging writers with young people.
