An American Poet, and author who's real name was Nathan Pinchack Toomer. After he began his writing career he changed is name to Jean Toomer. Being of mixed race with bloodlines of european and african american he set out on a quest to find his true identity. He later adopted the principles of Ivanovich Gurdjieff. Best known as the religion of "Unitism." The journey turned into his most notable and famouse literary work "cane." His life was filled with twist turns and with trying to understand who he was and most of all; about understanding black and white.
