Lithium is increasingly becoming a very important component for a number of goods; be it electric cars, mobile phones or power plants. While China is currently dominating the processing of lithium, US aims to counter China with incentivising firms to invest in the country. However, lithium competition tells us how both the countries aim to secure their supply chains which could lead to increasing tensions between both the superpowers.
