Here's a quick taste of what the Little and Loud podcast is all about.
We needed a way to recap 2020 to share some experiences, but also officially leave it behind, in a way that was more fun than just telling stories. So we came up with an over or under question and answer format. We pick an aspect of 2020, either sports or parenting related, and rate whether it over-performed or under-performed given the circumstances. We rate everything from the fake fans in the stadium, to pandemic kid-made art, to professional coaches wearing masks. We also give educators their due appreciation through stories of Adam’s wife, and what she had to deal with as a teacher. Thanks for listening.
Adam and Chris speak openly about the trials and tribulations of being lifelong Detroit Lions fans. They ask hard-hitting questions like, How do you explain to your kids the Detroit Lions? Also, what is more difficult for Matthew Stafford, raising four girls, or being the quarterback of the Detroit Lions. This was originally part of a full episode, but it got pretty local, so they thought this might be better suited for a true Lions fan. Or, possibly someone who is curious as to how someone could be a fan of the Detroit Lions. We hope you enjoy.
On the heels of the Adrian Peterson signing by the Detroit Lions, Adam and Chris dive into the difficult subject of abuse, and the nuances and fine lines that exist within the concept of discipline in sports. We do our best as non experts to tackle this tough conversation, and approach from our own experiences witnessing verbal abuse and questionable discipline tactics in youth sports. We also talk about how to react when confronted with another parent who is showing signs of verbally abusing their child. It's a heavy one folks, but an important discussion. We do book end the conversation with some light subjects, like a beer for dogs and cats, and Adam's son David giving us some Marble Run play by play. Please feel free to reach out with any comments and suggestions, or share your experiences with us on social media. Thanks for listening.
We discuss the weird, wild world of COVID parenting, the sports world in 2020, and how they come together. Adam shares insights on navigating youth athletics and explaining the sports shut down to a seven year-old die hard sports fan. Plus, he explains why he almost dumped Tom Izzo, as we discuss some of the recent recruiting success of Michigan State Basketball. Finally, we throw our thoughts in on the legacy of Kobe Bryant. Taylor Cramer of Cold Shower Podcast joins us, and offers his insight as a sports fan, and MSU basketball guru.
