In 2011 the CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government) meeting was held in Perth, Western Australia.

The Queen of England visited for the occasion. During her trip she opened the newly constructed Clontarf college boarding house. Dumbartung Aboriginal Corporation is also situated on the same site. During the lead up to the visit, Dumbartung was visited on many occasions by several security organisations as they had a perception that Dumbartung may be a threat to the royal visit.
