As Luffy stares wistfully towards the ocean and two boneheads argue over whether Nami is a good person or not, we get to experience the tense and tear-jerking backstory behind our beloved navigator. Having grown up with very little money in an already poor village, we see a young Nami engrossed in an atlas having found her passion for the maps of the world, as well as her passion for taking what she wants.
