Our depictions restrict who He can appear to us.
He is so much more that we can imagine.
• When Steven was stoned he said He saw the Son of God at the right hand of the Father.
• Find a revelation of who Christ is, who the Father is, and not have a false image of who Christ as.
• When people do not have a relationship with Him, they draw on history.
• We also need to know who He really is.
• God said no images. • Seek the Lord to know Him.
• Who Christ is, is still unfolding before us. We are still learning what He did for us.
• Christ and the father and the Holy Spirit are invisible to us and there is a reason for that.
• If you have an image of God, then you lock him in to that depiction of how you see Him.
• The liberty of not knowing what He looks like allows God to be to us what He wants to be.
Acts 7:56 56 and he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”
Mark 16:19 19 So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
2 Corinthians 5:14 14 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died;
1 Peter 3:18 8 To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit;
Hebrews 7:25 25 Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
Leviticus 26:1 1 ‘You shall not make for yourselves a idols, nor shall you set up for yourselves an image or a sacred pillar, nor shall you place a figured stone in your land to bow down to it; for I am the LORD your God.
1 Timothy 6:16 16 who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.
John 14:12 12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.
1 John 4:20 20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.
1 Peter1:8 8 and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
Colossians 1:27 27 to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
John14:23 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.
We need a relationship of Christ and who He really is.
Those who have an image of the Lord on a cross or pictures of Jesus, it is a lack of revelation of where the Lord is.
Find a revelation of who Christ is , Who the Father is and not a false image.
No one knows what He looks like, We know He is a Jew. Having a crucifix, or a picture in your mind would tend to create a passivity toward knowing Him.
If you have an image of God then you lock Him into that depiction of what you see Him as.
