He knew they had been exposed to false teaching, so with this in mind, Paul taught them that growth would be motivated by their hope in the return of Jesus. This applies to us, too! What inspires change is living a life consistently walking in the power of God’s Spirit. Godly encouragement brings comfort to the sorrowful, awakens the inactive, and strengthens the faint-hearted.
