Episode 67 is pure internet chaos: strikes, cheap glass, Gunsite carbine work, 300 Blackout arguments, a Mini-14 bolt release, and SHOT Show wish-list fights. No clean through-line, just the usual Live Fire Media pile-up.
YouTube handed out a second community-guidelines strike. The first drops in December, the second in January—one more and the channel is gone. Facebook and Threads both killed Mini-14 posts, including one that showed the Axis Engineering Labs Lighting Bolt Release (LBR). Meanwhile the LBR is actually installed and running on the Mini-14.
Cheap optics get the usual split. Hunter’s out. The counter is simple: if it holds zero and you can see through it, why not? Still waiting on someone to section a budget scope and a real one so the difference is visible instead of theoretical.
Hunter just came off five days of 5.56 defensive carbine at Gunsite—carbine drills, four shoot-house runs (one at night), and four outdoor simulators. That sets up the rest of the gear talk.
300 Blackout gets the usual treatment. North Korea’s Kim Jong Un doesn’t pop. Hunter could care less about the round. Quiet is nice, but not if you’re paying for it; free ammo changes the math. Hunter notes most guns need tuning for it, while the Hi-Point just runs. Also on the table: the Nemo Arms 300 Win Mag pistol in an 8-inch setup and a .30-30 AR build.SHOT
Show wants are the closer. Rusty and Corey want wildcat cartridges and optics. Dropping a 220 Swift in an AR platform was enough to light a few egos on fire.
Wrapped around all of it: gearing up for 31 days of horror, and the Crypt Keeper is back for AMC’s Horror Fest. Still don’t miss cable.
Live Fire Media Show—guns, gear, and whatever else won’t stay on topic.

Unpacking this epic episode, Steven King’s Carrie gets a show remake as does Friday the 13th called Crystal Lake. Both could be good, only time will tell. Hunter hypes himself up for more Gun Site as he’s heading out west. We discuss if a shooting stance really matters, what makes an AR go kaboom, and we talk about the affordable Hush-Point 22 suppressor, and I ordered the Axis Engineering Mini-14 bolt release!
There is more here so give us a listen and king back and enjoy.

Back on the mic and back in Bolivia. We jumped into Ghost Recon Wildlands (2017) again and yeah — it still holds up. Solid open-world shooter, still fun to run as a squad… minus the Santa Blanca goons dual-wielding Mac-11s and laser-beaming you at 50 yards like they’re running a precision rifle. That conversation turned into the real ask: we need a GI Joe game with that same Wildlands / Breakpoint DNA. Big map, kit-out your team, hit Cobra bases, actually feel like a special missions force.
Then we went full brick mode. Massive LEGO talk: the leaked MonsterVerse Godzilla set sitting around 5,500 pieces, plus the new UCS Star Wars Executor Super Star Destroyer — over 6,000 pieces and the longest LEGO Star Wars ship they’ve ever dropped. Display-piece energy. Wallet-warning energy.
Game hunt via X pulled two more onto the radar:
YouTube rec of the week: 12 Spies. High production, sci-fi fan-film vibe mixed with actual firearm talk, then they close on Bible verses. Weird combo. Cool combo. Check it out.
Range time: first shots with the Bersa M2XI. Ran great on our end. Corry’s Gen 1 has been a different story — some issues. That spun into the bigger take: a lot of gun buying right now isn’t “need.” It’s luxury. The 2011 wave, the optics, the extra kit. Fun metal. Expensive metal.
Games, bricks, wastelands, and first-round reports. EP65.

Episode 64 is a mix of franchise chaos, classic rock homework, and platform politics.
Ridley Scott doubled down on Alien: Romulus being merely “okay” and made it clear he still wants to move his own Alien project forward. The latest wrinkle: that project may get absorbed into the Romulus sequel rather than existing as a separate film. We talk what that means for the franchise and whether Scott’s version ever actually happens.
Amazon has a new RoboCop show incoming. The bar is on the floor after years of remakes and false starts — we’re hoping this one remembers the satire and the chrome.
Hunter goes into The Kinks and “Lola”: the lyrics, the context, and how people still misread one of the most famous songs of the era.
On the games side, a Masters of the Universe title in a Golden Axe-style beat-’em-up look is coming, and it looks fun as hell — swords, skeletons, and that old arcade energy.
Then the ugly part: YouTube and Google throttling 2A content. Same old playbook, new week. We’re not just complaining about it. The plan is simple — short videos, tag friends, stack the signal, and build something bigger than one clip dying in the algorithm.
Grab a drink. This one’s all over the map on purpose.

YouTube yanked Episode 61, how lame.
Quality of filming — does a good camera actually beat an action cam or a phone when making YouTube content?
We break down The X-Files: I Want to Believe Director’s Cut (what was the point?), Ridley Scott coming back to Alien but should he?
Masoud on Fudds and how the culture has changed, first shots with the Taurus TX22 and Hush-Point 22, and pricey-but-quiet Atomic ammo.
Everything is evolving whether you’re ready or not.
Episode 63 covers:
• YouTube pulling Episode 61 and what that means for the channel
• Camera quality vs action cam vs phone — does it really matter?
• The X-Files: I Want to Believe Director’s Cut — was there a point?
• Ridley Scott returning to Alien (he’s slipped, but anyone can)
• Masoud on Fudds and how that world has changed over the years
• Evolution: everything is changing whether you’re ready or not
• Taurus TX22 + Hush-Point 22 first shots
• Atomic ammo — expensive, but quiet

On Episode 62 of the podcast we get back to the grind and cover a little bit of everything.
We dig into Artisan Cutlery — those good-looking, affordable knives coming out of China — and share our thoughts on the value and quality.
I also ran the Ruger Mini-14 with an IC13 bandoleer originally made for the AR-15 and talk about how it performed.
We discuss the upcoming Bond Arms LVRB and what has us interested in it.
Plus, a conversation about what it really means to be a firearm instructor.
And for the movie corner: Lee Cronin’s The Mummy plus a look at some of the other versions of the classic story.
If you enjoy the show, hit like, subscribe, and drop a comment with your thoughts on any of these topics.

In this episode of the Live Fire Media Show we dive into 90s action classic Desperado, the famous bar shootout, and a fun “what if” — what happens if the guy with the rocket-launcher case pulls out a China Lake instead? Hunter even shares his visit to the real bar from the Cheech Marin shootout scene.
We also cover big questions in the firearms world: Is the NFA for suppressors finally going away? Death and taxes… and maybe fewer tax stamps?
Plus the disturbing Charlotte case of a man attacking women while live-streaming it — and why our systems are failing.
Quick takes; The Purge movies should have been better, is a 20-gauge is actually solid for home defense with modern loads, why there still aren’t more tactical 20-gauge shotguns, mini-shells may be an answer, and the best mag-fed AR-style shotguns (Genesis 12 is great… if your wallet can handle it).
Finally, the eternal debate: carry inexpensive guns that just work, or run the higher-end gear you’re truly proficient with? Hunter’s take and the bottom line — run what you’re actually comfortable and competent with.
If you like firearms discussion, movie talk, current events, and practical gear advice, this one’s for you.

In this packed episode of the Live Fire Media Show we dive into horror movie gold with The Last Voyage of the Demeter—a solid Dracula story pulled straight from one iconic chapter of the novel that delivers real tension and atmosphere.
We also discuss the up and coming released R-rated Director’s Cut of The X-Files: I Want to Believe (dropped August 14), why Spider-Man 4 is looking promising, the buzz around The Odyssey streaming on X, and the disappointing news that an Alien: Romulus sequel is currently off the table.
On the gear side: the Pulse Rifle mag well Gen 3 is 3D-printed and looking sharper than ever with more enhancements and details. Plus—Mini-14s are back and popping hard!
The big highlight is our GOA GOALS trip to Des Moines. For me it felt just like Hunter’s SHOT Show experience—seeing friends and then some. Hanging out with the AR-15 Podcast, Let’s Go Hunt, AK47 Radio, and especially the Airbnb with We Like Shooting was easily the best part of GOALS.
Quick note on the odd ads you might hear—they’re coming from RSS.com.

In this episode of the Live Fire Media Show Joe from Shooting Gallery joins us along with Cory returning. We check in to see if Hunter has watched the new Masters of the Universe movie on Amazon Prime, set expectations (it’s more cartoon than live-action), and roast Hunter for watching the wrong He-Man film. Cory loved The Odyssey while I’m still waiting for it to hit streaming — plus a quick take on the solid film Shutter Island.
Gun side: the Mini-14 project is officially underway (chop or don’t chop… the sky is the limit). I’ve 3D-printed a magwell that turns the GHM9 even more into a Pulse Rifle look-alike. We also explain why the UMP’s ergos are just okay at best, why the Stribog is the better gun, and why the Tommy Gun is cool but nowhere near the gold standard of submachine guns.
Like, subscribe, and hit the bell so you never miss the next Live Fire Media Show. Drop your thoughts on the new He-Man movie, the Mini-14 chop debate, or which sub gun you think is actually king in the comments!

In this episode we discuss the late Sam Neill and some of our favorites—Event Horizon, In the Mouth of Madness, Dead Calm, and Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight (yeah we know its not a Sam Neill, but you will get it)—before jumping into Falling Skies (fun show, but the gun handling and mixed-mag squads leave something to be desired) and the eternal “still good to some, trash to others” debate around The Walking Dead.
We also check out Undead Chronicles, the zombie FPS with slow-moving undead that’s currently soliciting feedback on its latest visuals.
More B&T GHM9 (Hunter loves it when I bring this up), B&T FRT is installed runs well! I received in some bullets, 147-grain 9mm and 158-grain .38 Special ammo. Just gearing up to load more subsonic ammo. With vacation approaching we talk defense/escape gun choices and the eternal struggle of wanting to shoot at the beach… only to settle for dry-fire practice.
