Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking was Waters’ first solo project and tour. Original demos were done at the same time as The Wall demos were made and when presented to the band the others rejected Pros And Cons in favor of The Wall. Its about a series of dreams about a guy dealing with a mid-life crisis in a motel room. Sound familiar? We go back to 22. July 1984 at The Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Before we dive into Pros And Cons, we start this podcast off with three tracks from the “Syd” Barrett, Madcap’s Last Laugh tribute show last night (10. May 2007) at London’s Barbican Centre. Roger Waters performs Flickering Flame. David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Nick Mason perform Arnold Layne. We’ll also hear all the artists (except Roger Waters) cap off the evening with Bike.
