Solomon - The Preacher gives instruction on what makes life meaningful after he pursued a number of dead ends. Those dead ends included things that our culture tells us makes for enjoyment: pleasure, wealth, women, entertaintment, building projects, palaces, and yet they brought no lasting satisfaction and joy. Solomon also instructs to find joy in youth, but pursue it carefully. This message also describes the fact that aging is a process of life, and how to successfully navigate the changes with meaning and purpose.
