What is the place of good works in the Christian life? Many people are confused when it comes to good works. On the one hand people make the mistake of thinking that they need to earn their way to heaven by their good works. They think that if they are religious and moral then they can earn their way to heaven. On the other hand, there are people who think that good works are irrelevant. They think that
because we’re saved by grace, simply by trusting in what Jesus has done on the cross that our good works are irrelevant. But both views are wrong. So what is the right place of good works in the Christian life?

Introduction: The place of good works?
Context
1. God’s grace trains us to live differently (11-12)
2. God’s grace makes us zealous for good works while we wait for Jesus' return (13-14)
3. God’s word shows us how he wants us to live
4. God’s spirit enables us to respond to God’s grace
Conclusion
a. Have you received God’s gift of salvation?
b. Have you been changed by God’s grace?
