(1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:1-2, 8-11)” Perhaps when you picture heaven, what comes to your mind is a place with white clouds and chubby angels flying around playing harps. Or you envision large, pearly gates, with a long line of people waiting for a bearded and robed man to check his book before letting them in. These images may be popular, but they do not totally match up with what the Bible says heaven is like. When the Apostle Paul is writing to the Thessalonian Christians he is comforting them as they grieve those who have died. How does he describe heaven and the return of Jesus to them?
