God justified you through your faith in Christ. He gave you right standing with Himself having cancelled and wiped away alll of the guilt and power of sin through your union with Christ. Now you have peace with God because He completely reconciled you to back to Himself through the death and now declares you eternally righteous in His Presence. (Romans 5:1-10)

Therefore, since you are now justified, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God by Christ’s blood, you have received God’s Gift of Righteousness. A marvelous divine exchange of divine grace took place at the cross. All of your sins were placed on Christ and left there, your guilt was removed and forever gone, and you were given all of God’s righteousness. You now possesses Christ’s perfect and complete righteousness and are seen by the Father as righteous as His Son. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
