Revelation 3:14-19 NLT
Romans 12:11 NIV
The Greek word for fervent is “zeo” which means to boil with heat.
1 Thessalonians 5:19 NIV
God has granted us the ability to either restrict or release the Holy Spirit fire in our lives.
Are we going to douse it or fan it?
Three things that will douse the fire of God in our hearts.
1. Human Fear
2. Control
3. Flawed theology
Two important keys to fanning the fire.
1. Knowing God’s Mercy
Gods' mercy: when we deserve punishment, He doesn’t punish us, and in fact blesses us instead. Mercy is the withholding of a just condemnation.
Ephesians 2:4-5 NLT
Lamentations 3:22-24 NLT
2. Knowing God's Grace
Romans 2:4 NLT
"It's Godn's kindness that leads us towards repentance."
