EPISODE SUMMARY: In this episode, I share an excerpt from Step 12 of my new book, Living Perfectly Loved. 

In this episode, I share that to love Jesus is to follow Him—even unto death. Jesus asks, do you love me? Do you truly love me? This is the same question Jesus once asked Peter, who had to decide whether or not he was ready to fully commit to following Him. Fortunately, Jesus gives us hope in the face of fear. As a member of the body of Christ, we have become a part of a team that is strengthened, supported, and built-up in the perfect love of God. While it’s not always easy following Jesus. There are hardships and daily sacrifices in choosing to love God and love others. Jesus reminds us that His love is enough and we have nothing to fear. Finally, you can rest in knowing that no matter how imperfect you may still feel at times, nothing can change this one truth: you are a completely forgiven, fully accepted, deeply loved, daughter of the King! You can take the risk and love fearlessly now. Why? Because your destiny in Christ awaits—and heaven is not so far away.

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them” (1 John 4:16 NIV).

EPISODE SUMMARY: In this episode, I share an excerpt from Step 11 of my new book, Living Perfectly Loved. 

We all want to shine bright, and to please the Lord with all the good works we are doing for Him. However, trying to keep our lights burning bright without renewing our strength in the Lord will drive even the strongest, most dedicated of believers into burnout. For the one who has struggled with anxiety and fear for a long time, it is likely they have developed a harmful habit of pushing through tasks and relying on their own strength to keep going, rather than relying on the strength the Lord promises to provide. They have learned to operate from a position of fear and striving. In this episode, you will discover that striving to do more and be more than what God has called you to will not lead to greater productivity, it will lead to more anxiety. Instead, we must learn a new way of working to fulfill our God-given callings and assignments—with full dependence on the Lord. “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit” (Zechariah 4:6 NIV), says the Lord, is how the believer in Christ will receive all the strength they need to persevere in their work and finish their race.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43:19 NIV).

You’ve been delivered from your Egypt, from living a slave to fear, and God is now making a way forward for you, not just into a new position or assignment, but into fullness of life in Christ and living out your God-given purpose! Rather than crossing the Red Sea and arriving at your promised land, however, you find yourself called by God into a wilderness season. In the wilderness, you may feel like they are neither here nor there, as if you took a wrong turn somewhere and got lost or off track with God, but God has not left you. He is with you to show you the way forward through your wilderness, and to provide for your every need all along the way. You will learn the reasons God has called you into the wilderness: to teach you and further develop your character, to grow your trust in Him, to make you fully dependent and reliant on Him for your every need, and to help you let go of your past and embrace your God-given purpose today.

EPISODE SUMMARY: In this episode, I share an excerpt from Step Eight of my new book, Living Perfectly Loved. 

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong” (1 Corinthians 16:13 NIV).

It is through the testing and refining of our faith that the Lord will prepare us for new opportunities, new responsibilities, and change. You may be going through what is known as the refiner’s fire, but God will use this time of trials and testing to strengthen your faith so that you will not fall apart when He promotes you to a position that will require a greater level of faith to sustain you, such as a new kingdom assignment where you may come face to face with significant spiritual warfare. The testing of your faith will produce perseverance in you—a supernatural strength to stand firm on the promises of God amidst even the most severe opposition. And by perseverance, I mean true grit!

In this episode I will reveal four ways you can practically fix your eyes on Jesus to help you keep the faith in the wait when your circumstances are pushing you to give up. With hope-filled eyes of faith, fixed on Jesus, you will begin to see God working and moving in your life in ways that cannot yet be seen with your eyes of flesh—giving you a better understanding of who God is, what His will is, and what His plans and purposes are for your life. God will make a way for you where there seems to be no way.

“See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic” (Isaiah 26:18 NIV).

God will restore us to perfect peace anytime we enter into His presence. However, if every time we leave the safety of our prayer closets we find ourselves stricken with panic, we must then ask ourselves—have I truly learned to rely on Jesus Christ the rock of my salvation as my one sure foundation? To remain free from anxiety and fear and to continue growing in faith, we not only need to prioritize spending consistent time in God’s presence, we must also build our identity and secure our faith in Christ by growing deeply rooted in His love. As believers, the foundation of our faith has already been laid. Now we must learn to rely on it—to trust in God’s unfailing love.

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you” (Isaiah 26:3 NIV).

Jesus is the anchor for our souls. In the storms of life, or whenever we begin to feel overwhelmed, anxious, or afraid, we can retreat to God unashamed and He will restore us to perfect peace in His presence. I’ve given practical suggestions for entering God’s presence. The when, where, and how of your encounter with God may be vastly different from that of someone else—and that’s okay! What’s most important is that you experience Him—first by entering into His presence with thanksgiving and praise; then by taking time to sit at His feet, in His Word and in prayer. He will refill your tank that’s been emptied by the day’s demands, refresh your spirit, and strengthen your faith. We will find comfort in knowing we serve a God who is unafraid in our fear, all powerful in our weakness, and completely in control when life feels totally out of control.

EPISODE SUMMARY: In this episode, I share an excerpt from Step Five of my new book, Living Perfectly Loved. Jesus gave His life so that all might be saved and live free from anything that would try to keep them in bondage. He took the punishment that causes fear so that we would no longer need to be afraid. Why then, as believers, are many of us crawling through this life on our bellies unable to rise above our fears? Is it possible that we’ve failed to see Jesus for who He really is—our Chain Breaker? When it comes to anxiety and fear, the bottom line is this: without Jesus, there is reason to fear. However, when they have been washed in His blood, clothed in His righteousness, and covered by His perfect love, there is nothing left to fear! You can believe, without doubting, that Jesus has the power to free you. In His power, you can rise up from the ashes of defeat, shake loose your chains, straighten your crown, and begin to confidently walk out your victory over fear God has promised!

Learning to trust God with the things He calls us to release into His strong, loving, and capable hands, is often God’s way of teaching us to rely on Him alone for our every need and to shift our focus from the temporary things of this world to eternity. Ultimately, we learn that the things God will call us to surrender now are small in comparison to the life He wants to bless us with. The abundant life—love, freedom, blessings, joy, peace, and the riches of God’s glory—is for us! Only in learning to trust God, surrender and live for Christ, will you experience true freedom from fear and fullness of joy. One day we will depart from this world and we will finally have to surrender it all. Until then, we should strive to keep an eternal perspective and an open hand. We truly have nothing to lose and everything to gain!

EPISODE SUMMARY: In this episode, I share an excerpt from Step Three of my new book, Living Perfectly Loved. Do you know that God cares a lot about our thought lives? His Word says, “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him” (Matthew 12:35 NIV). Until learning the significance of this, I was mostly unaware of my innermost thoughts. I often didn’t realize that it was my thought choices that were holding me captive to fear! Rather than continuing to allow my thoughts to take me captive, I learned that I have the authority to take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ!
