Do it for His glory.
What God spoke to my heart on this matter : "If I don't care to have relationship with this person, I certainly do not have permission to know their business."
God could be protecting us from something He doesn't want us to see or taking up residence in our minds.
Ask God to give you the discernment to know if you're having Godly curiosity or un-Godly curiosity over a situation.
