बहुत लोगों को शायद यह बात पता नहीं होगी की भगवान श्रीकृष्ण और दुर्योधन समधी थे। दुर्योधन व भानुमति की पुत्री लक्ष्मणा को श्रीकृष्ण के पुत्र शाम्ब से प्रेम हो जाता है और शाम्ब लक्ष्मणा को उसके स्वयंवर से भगा कर ले जाते हैं। इस बात से क्रोधित दुर्योधन, शाम्ब को मारने के लिए सेना भेज देता है. अकेला शाम्ब पूरी कौरव सेना का सामना करने में असमर्थ होता है और बंदी बना लिया जाता हैं। 

जब यह बात भगवान बलराम को पता चलती है तो वह अपने शिष्य दुर्योधन से शाम्ब को छोड़ देने के लिए कहते हैं। परन्तु दुर्योधन उनकी एक नहीं सुनता, इससे क्रोधित होकर हलधर अपने हल से पूरे हस्तिनापुर को खींच कर यमुना में डुबोने लगते हैं। प्रजा में इस स्थिति को लेकर हाहाकार मच जाता है और दुर्योधन को अंत में अपनी जिद छोड़ कर लक्ष्मणा और शाम्ब के विवाह को स्वीकृति देनी पड़ती है। 

Lakshmana

Lakshamana was the daughter of Duryodhan and Bhanumati. Shrikrishna’s son Shamb was in love with her and he abducted her from her swayamvar. An angry Duryodhan sent his entire army to stop and capture them. Shamb could not defeat the Hastinapur army and was captured.

Later Balaram ji approached Duryodhan asking him to release his nephew, but Duryodhan declined. This angered Baldau and he started pulling the entire Hastinapur capital with his plough to drown it inside the Yamuna river. Afraid of this Duryodhana sought forgiveness and agreed for the union of his daughter and Shrikrishna’s son
