Let’s face it...we have ALL had bad days...months...and even YEARS when we feel like what we’re wanting from life is just not going to happen. Some times things just don’t come together the way we want them to.
We know we want things to be different for ourselves. We know we want a better life! We try to rock our goals but, it’s just not working. We ask ourselves, “Why is this not happening? Why am I not getting what I want? What’s wrong with me?”
So, we begin to lose momentum toward working for what we want in life. We try to pick back up and work toward our goals again, but it just feels too darn hard. The weight of the goal itself seems hard enough and now our inner dialogue is making it feel nearly impossible! Getting this goal done just isn’t happening.
Since we lose momentum, we don’t take any action. And without action, we lose hope that we’ll EVER accomplish what we want from this life of ours. We start to feel like a failure. Our confidence suffers and before we know it, we’re trying to forget about what we once desired from life because thinking about it reminds us how we’re a “failure.”
We wonder things like...maybe it’s just not in our destiny to have a fulfilling, rewarding career...maybe we aren’t meant to be skinny...maybe we aren't meant to find our dream guy or gal....maybe we aren’t meant to be happy and joyous.
Does what I talk about here sound familiar? Does this happen to you too?
I know it sure as heck happens to me! I have been in those moments SO many times when I thought I would NEVER get what I want from life. I thought I was just too “broken” for creating the life I imagined for myself.
So, why does this happen? Why do we let our minds convince us that we aren’t capable and worthy of creating our dream lives? Why do we give up and settle?
This mind convincing and settling happens because of a mental block that we ALL share! In fact, this mental block is proven by science to be part of our brain! (Source) Yet, so few people know it exists!
Since most people don’t know about this block, they think there’s something wrong with them. So, they hang around people, go to places and find institutions that reaffirm that belief. When this belief is reaffirmed by others, they KNOW for sure it’s true! They now know without a doubt they are just too “messed up” for getting what they want in life.
I’m here to tell you...their is NOTHING wrong with you! The only thing “wrong” with you is that you haven’t learned about this mental block yet and how to overcome it!
Now, don’t think that I wasn’t once in your shoes too! I was once that woman who thought there was something wrong with her. I convinced myself that since I wasn’t able to achieve what I wanted in life, I MUST have a mental illness.
Sure enough, I found a Counselor who reaffirmed that belief for me. Instead of teaching me about this block that I share with you today, she told me that I had anxiety, I suffered with depression and I was probably co-dependent.
Was it true? Was there truly something wrong with me? On paper, yes. However, I wasn’t taught how to train my brain for overcoming those “diseases.” I wasn’t taught how to find what I wanted in life and how to set goals to accomplish that.
It wasn’t until I found out about this block that I share with you today did the tears of pure relief come sliding down my face. I realized after I learned about this block, there was NOTHING wrong with me! In fact, this was just a part of me that was natural and human and now...I could overcome it!
Today, I want you too to understand what this unknown block is that’s keeping you from your goals AND telling you that you’re broken. I want you not only knowing what this block is,
