Wisdom. Is that something that you would like to have, or have more of? We certainly feel that way and attaining wisdom is one of the goals of our daily practices so that we may live a better, more purposeful life. However, according to Socrates, one of the most famous philosophers from Ancient Greece, the only wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. This statement challenges us to question our assumptions and keep an open mind to new knowledge and experiences. In today's fast paced world, it's so easy to fall into the trap of thinking we know everything we need to know. But Socrates reminds us that there is always more to learn, and any knowledge we do have may be insignificant or even false compared to what we have yet to discover. So we invite you to join us as we delve into the power of curiosity, learning and growth. Together, let's explore how we can apply Socrates’ timeless teachings to our personal and professional lives. By opening our minds and hearts to new ideas, we can bring more light to the shadows and gain clarity in our views. So let's dive in and discover the transformative power of Socratic wisdom.
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. Facts matter for sure, but equally or even more importantly, we want to put all options on the table and relate openly about what we may have missed as a result of our unescapable biases and other horse blinders. This is a place where we revisit what we thought we understood or knew, in order to spark new growth.
