When's the last time things went according to your plans? Woody Allen famously said "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans", and we can wholeheartedly relate... Our experience is that even for the most meticulous planners, life is often unpredictable and can seem to make a joke out of our desire for certainty! And it might be for the best... Either way, to accommodate and adjust to these life’s Liku-Liku twists and turns, we have to pause and ponder, and take the time to take stock of what we’ve been through, what we’ve learned both good and bad, and admire the beauty in the small things. In this way, we pave the way for a better future, with more of what we want and less of what we don't want... This is what we do in today’s episode, looking back on the previous year of podcasting, but also hopefully modeling how to write our narrative together in a way that makes us feel more connected each time, whether microphones are involved or not. Enjoy!
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. Facts matter for sure, but equally or even more importantly, we want to put all options on the table and relate openly about what we may have missed as a result of our unescapable biases and other horse blinders. This is a place where we revisit what we thought we understood or knew, in order to spark new growth.
