Thank you to Experience Dusk for dreaming this big dream and offering up such an amazing weekend long event in our little city. The Victoria addition took over the Downtown Core with a buzz of excitement and aliveness. With three evenings of packed streets, every direction a vision of art, creativity and community buzz I've never experienced in the city streets.

What started as a sound check, ended up in an hour long set dedicated to love. Every track offered in the name of love in its varied forms, from love in friendship, in community, family, the city and with self. With the first tone of sound checks, the children filled the front of the stage and we nodded, knowing it was right to keep going. Sometimes the spontaneous, unplanned sets are some of the most magical.

All the children dancing in front guided this set and we absolutely loved it. What a great time.

Huge thank you to Experience at dust, stellar visuals by Mieke Jay and the vision and implementation by RAH aka Nora Dawn Tribe. It was such an honour to be part of this one.

By the power of amazing fortune, I was asked to support this show. It was an absolute delight to share music that makes me feel happy and bouncy. It was so worth the 3+ hour journey to mingle with the fine folks in Courtney and be part of Mt. Eliah and Long Shot Events. This DJ is so humbled and grateful. The vibe was fine and every DJ was spectacular. Felix Cartel & Glass Petals were spot and we definitely left bigger fans then when we we arrived.

Nectar Festival was a soul reunion—an interweaving of hearts and histories that have danced together across decades. For me, this gathering spanned over twenty years of connections: landmates, chosen family, kindred spirits, past and present loves, new faces, and those yet to formally enter the circle. It was a celebration of life, of presence, and of time shared in a lush, peaceful forest sanctuary.

Opening the Nectar Stage on Saturday was an honour beyond words. This mix is a journey—a sonic offering in gratitude to all who help us gather, who hold the container for music, movement, and shared transformation.

In moments like these, we’re gifted the chance to elevate—to move energy, shift perception, and feel safe enough to let music become the medicine it truly is. A sacred vibration. A bridge between worlds.

With freedom to move between genres, this set begins gently at 90 BPM, inviting us to root into our bodies and feel the earth beneath our feet—before gradually ascending to 120 BPM, lifting us into expansive states of awareness and dance. It’s a rhythmic unfolding that calls us into alignment with our deeper wisdom, ignites inspiration, and opens space for authentic connection—with self, with others, with something greater.

I never met my Grandmother. She was a musician, master piano player and opera singer. Her favourite music to play at home was Hawaiian. She was 4 foot 11 and her first language was very obscure and nearly extinct now. I feel her influence through the ether, guiding me towards all the rhythms.

Music for me is not just beats and sounds, it's the rhythms of life, of healing, of process, of inspiration and evolution. When I immerse myself into digging for music, I am guided towards all the rhythms, sometimes feeling into what is popular and other times digging for the obscure - noticing when the music speaks to my gut and find myself moving and flowing with the groove.

Finding and sharing music is an amazing honour and a cherished passion. Thank you for allowing me to share music with you.

I am a multi-genre lover and I'm finding it increasing impossible to stick to just one genre in a mix, unless it's a specific request. This contest was open, so I allowed myself some creative freedom.
