Getting married is supposed to be one of the most joyful occasions of your life.
For women, picking up your wedding dress is one of the highlight moments.
But trying to get married at the start of the Covd-19 would have naturally add to complications.
Now imagine on the day of picking up your wedding dress, at 38 years old, you receive the news that you have breast cancer…
When we hear the words breast cancer, for most of us, we assume that a lump would have been found either at home or on a routine scan.
Well Lobular cancer is one of many types of breast cancers
and one of its distinctive traits, is that it does not produce the tell tail signs of a lump.
Lobular breast cancer is a distinct disease that behaves differently from other breast cancers
tumours grow more like a spider’s web in straight lines and rarely form a lump, making it much harder to see on scans.
As a result, people are often diagnosed at a more advanced stage of the disease.
Lobular breast cancer and how it responds to treatment is not properly understood and it’s an under-researched disease.
In this episode, we talk to the amazing Elaine as she shares her journey.
It was an absolute joy to speak to this incredible woman and I know for a fact, you will enjoy this episode.
