“Artificial intelligence doesn't replace knowledge, it boosts it. But if you execute a task simply for the sake of checking a box, then yes, you become easily replaceable.” — Rafa Mendez
Rafa Méndez is the co-founder of Estoko Logistics, a company that automates warehousing and logistics deployment for B2B operations while reducing the overall carbon footprint of logistics operations. Awarded as the Best Logistics Startup in Spain, Estoko was one of the first successful projects to receive startup capital from the Logistics 4.0 Incubator of Barcelona’s Zona Franca Consortium, Spain’s very first incubator dedicated entirely to Industry 4.0 within the logistics value chain.
Originally starting his professional journey studying literature and philology at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Venezuela with dreams of becoming a writer, Rafa’s early career involved producing music, videos, managing rock bands, and working for a TV channel. This unconventional creative baseline taught him how to structure learning programs, experiment freely, tweak systemic rules, and lean heavily into collaboration.
Over the last 12 months, Rafa has executed a profound cultural shift within Estoko, transitioning a small team from facing internal friction and change resistance to becoming a 100% AI-native, people-first company where every employee operates as an AI superuser. By blending raw execution with a relentless focus on critical thinking, creative drive, and stakeholder relationship-building, Rafa has disrupted traditional, rigid warehousing models to offer a flexible, platform-driven logistics ecosystem that serves the true “human pain” of medium and large corporations.
