The portrayal of Leeds in The Last Kingdom has always interested me, it  seems so sparse. I decided to scour my bookshelves to try and find out  what the land in and around Loidis would have been like as Ragnar The  Fearless arrives on the scene in the 9th Century......according to the  fictional tale The Last Kingdom of course. There are a few minor  spoilers so I would avoid viewing until you have watched the first  episode of the show.
