Betty Doherty, OFD (Originally From Dorchester), lives in Quincy. (Betty also lived in MV for 11 years.)She is an alcoholic in recovery for 33+ years. Currently she is a Recovery Coach for Bat State New Way Recovery Center in Quincy and a Community Support Program Coordinator. She is also involved in an organization  called Self Esteem Boston. It is a program that helps those with self esteem and teaches women how to feel empowered. The program helps a lot of homeless and those in halfway houses and also in transitional programs.
