Growing up under the benevolent southern sun in Cape Town, South Africa, Innfield's resolutely British parents had a habit of referring to the UK in conversation, and London in particular, as 'home'.

Perhaps it wasn't altogether surprising therefore that the young Innfield came to regard this most fascinating of world capitals as the place he would finally end up, and discover when he saw it for the first time at the age of 15 just how almost exactly the real thing resembled his youthful imaginings.
