I’m a lone wolf. But I chose this.

Not because I didn’t want to belong. But because belonging meant behaving in ways my heart rejected. It meant being someone I was not. It meant ignoring the truths and accepting the illusions that people wanted me to accept.

And at some point, I accepted that I’d rather be alone and awake than surrounded by people and be a complete fraud to my values.
