As I get older, I know more and more people who experience the loss of a spouse. As believers, of course, many of my friends know for sure that they’ll see their loved ones again in Heaven—but losing them is still hard. Many people in this position feel lonely. Of course, it isn’t just these people who feel lonely; at one time or another, we all struggle with loneliness.
Maybe you’re a young adult who moved off to college and miss your family. Maybe you’re a business professional who relocated for work and doesn’t know anyone. At one time or another, we’ll all experience loneliness. But in these moments, we must remember that we are never really alone. God is with us, and He will never, ever leave us.
The Bible says in John 14:18, “I will not leave you without help as children without parents. I will come to you.” And in Isaiah 58:9, the Bible says, “Then you will call, and the Lord will answer. You will cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am’.
