Surf Report - Portland Oregon

Long Beach Washington and Portland, OR Surf Report for 02-23-2025

Listen Later

Surf's up, wave riders and coastal adventurers! We're looking at some serious Pacific Northwest maritime drama unfolding this weekend.

Long Beach and the Washington coastline are about to get hammered with monster 12 to 16 foot swells rolling in from the west at a powerful 14 second interval. Winds will be howling from the south, ramping up from 26 to a blustery 32 miles per hour. Expect cloudy skies with rain and potential scattered showers - definitely not a beach day for sunbathing.

Jumping down to Oregon's stunning coastline, things get even more intense. Seaside and Cannon Beach are expecting massive 15 to 19 foot surf with complex swell patterns - west swells at 14 seconds mixed with southern 5 foot waves at 10 seconds. Winds will dance between 23 and 29 miles per hour, keeping conditions wild and unpredictable.

Moving south to Manzanita, Rockaway Beach, and Pacific City, you'll see northwest swells thundering in at 14 to 18 feet. Temperatures will hover around a chilly 55 degrees with consistent rainfall.

Sunday brings slightly more mellow conditions across all regions - surf heights drop to 8 to 12 feet with southwest winds maintaining their punch around 25 to 27 miles per hour.

CRITICAL WARNING: Cold water, sneaker waves, and rip currents are extremely dangerous. These waves can surprise and overwhelm even experienced surfers. Remain vigilant, watch wave patterns, and respect the ocean's power. This isn't just a suggestion - it's survival advice.

Stay safe, stay smart, and may the surf be with you!
