Surf's up, coastal adventurers, and Mother Nature is bringing the heat... or should we say the massive waves this week!
The Pacific Northwest coastline is gearing up for some seriously intense surf conditions that'll make even seasoned wave riders take notice. We're looking at a high surf warning from 4 PM Monday straight through noon Tuesday that's going to transform our coastal regions into a wild aquatic playground.
Long Beach, Washington is about to see waves climbing to an epic 15 to 19 feet today, ramping up to a jaw-dropping 21 to 26 feet by Tuesday. Those offshore swells are packing a powerful punch at 15 seconds - that's some serious wave energy heading our way.
Oregon's coastal zones aren't far behind. Seaside and Cannon Beach are expecting 11 to 15 foot surf today, exploding to 22 to 27 feet tomorrow. Manzanita and Rockaway Beach will see similar monster waves, with winds whipping up to 32 miles per hour.
But listen up, beach lovers - these aren't your typical beach day conditions. We're talking cold water, sneaker waves that can catch you completely off guard, and potentially dangerous rip currents. These waves don't play, and they demand respect.
Temperatures will hover around a chilly 50 to 55 degrees with cloudy skies and intermittent rain. Winds will shift from southeast to southwest, adding extra drama to an already intense marine environment.
Bottom line: If you're heading to the coast, keep your eyes peeled, stay vigilant, and maybe leave the beach day plans for another time. These waves are not for the faint of heart.
Stay safe, stay smart, and ride the knowledge wave!
