Long Beach Washington and Portland, OR Surf Report for 03-02-2025

Listen Later

Surfers and beach lovers, buckle up for a wild ride along the Pacific Northwest coast! We're looking at some seriously epic wave action this weekend that'll get your adrenaline pumping.

Today's surf scene is bringing massive swells with heights ranging from 16 to 21 feet - we're talking monster waves that'll make even experienced riders think twice. The offshore swell is coming in strong from the west at 14 feet and rolling in at a powerful 18 seconds. Expect mostly cloudy skies with a chance of rain and temperatures hovering around a cool 50 degrees.

Wind conditions will start gentle with south winds around 5 miles per hour, then gradually picking up to 10 miles per hour. Tides are looking dramatic with high peaks reaching 9.6 to 9.7 feet, and some seriously low points dropping to negative 0.1 feet.

Sunday brings slightly mellower conditions with surf heights dropping to 11 to 15 feet. The offshore swell will calm down to west winds at 11 feet and 15-second intervals. Cloudy skies with scattered showers will persist, keeping temperatures steady around 50 degrees.

But listen up - this isn't just about catching waves. The coast is serving up some serious hazards. Cold water, sneaker waves, and rip currents are no joke. Those unexpected waves can catch you off guard faster than you can say wipeout. Stay alert, keep your eyes on the water, and respect the ocean's power.

Sunrise happens around 6:50 AM, giving early birds plenty of time to scope out the best breaks. Sunset comes around 6:04 PM, so you'll have a full day of potential wave riding.

Remember, these waves are experimental forecasts, so always use your best judgment. Stay safe, stay stoked, and may the surf be with you!
