Surf Report - Portland Oregon

Long Beach Washington and Portland, OR Surf Report for 03-04-2025

Listen Later

Surf's up, wave riders! Hold onto your boards because the Pacific Northwest coastline is serving up a serious swell today. We're looking at some monster waves ranging 8 to 11 feet along the Washington and Oregon coasts - perfect for experienced surfers but definitely not for the faint of heart.

Long Beach and the Washington coast are expecting west swells rolling in at a solid 8 feet with 12-second intervals. Over in Oregon, from Seaside to Lincoln City, similar conditions are brewing with northwest swells promising an epic ride. Winds will be dancing between southwest and west at moderate speeds around 4 to 14 miles per hour.

Today's ocean mood? Mostly cloudy with scattered showers making for that classic Pacific Northwest atmosphere. Temperatures will hover around a crisp 50 degrees - so keep those wetsuits thick and your spirits high. Tuesday's forecast looks even more dynamic with increasing southeast winds and continued rain.

But listen up, wave warriors - this isn't just about catching the perfect curl. These waters demand respect. Cold temperatures, sneaker waves, and rip currents are serious business. A sneaker wave can surprise you faster than a seagull snatching your lunch, pushing much further up the beach than you'd expect.

Tide charts show some impressive vertical movement today. Expect high tides between 9 and 10 feet in the morning and evening, with low tides touching near zero. Sunrise kicks off around 6:47-6:50 AM, giving early birds the first glimpse of these magnificent swells.

Bottom line: Stay alert, stay smart, and respect the ocean's power. Surf safe, coastal adventurers!
