Surf Report - Portland Oregon

Long Beach Washington and Portland, OR Surf Report for 03-28-2025

Listen Later

Surf's up, wave riders and coastal adventurers! Get ready for a wild ride along the Pacific Northwest coastline. Today's looking like a serious swell day with monster waves cranking up to 22 feet along the Oregon coast. We're talking serious Pacific power coming in from the southwest with massive 15 to 17-foot swells rolling in at an impressive 15-second interval.

The weather's serving up a classic Northwest maritime cocktail - cloudy with scattered showers and temperatures hovering around a crisp 50 to 55 degrees. Winds are cranking from the southeast at 21 to 24 miles per hour, which means conditions are going to be dynamic and energetic.

For those tide watchers, you'll see some serious vertical movement today. Expect dramatic tide swings between negative point-something feet to high peaks around 9.1 feet. Lincoln City, Seaside, and Long Beach are looking particularly spicy for wave action.

As we roll into Friday, things get slightly more mellow but still pack a punch. Surf heights will drop to 13 to 18 feet with southwest swells continuing to deliver. Winds will shift and intensify to 26 to 27 miles per hour from the southwest, bringing more rain and cloudy conditions.

Critical safety note for all beach visitors: These waters are not for the faint of heart. Cold water, sneaker waves, and rip currents are real threats. Those surprising waves can catch you off guard faster than you can say wipeout. Stay alert, keep your distance from the water's edge, and respect the ocean's raw power.

Sunrise comes early around 7 am, with sunset painting the sky around 7:40 pm. Stay safe, stay stoked, and enjoy the magnificent Pacific Northwest coastal experience!
