Listen Later

Surf's up, coastal adventurers! Buckle up for a wild ride along the Pacific Northwest shoreline. We're looking at some serious wave action that'll make even seasoned surfers think twice.

Today's coastal forecast is serving up monster swells between 12 to 16 feet with offshore waves rolling in at a powerful 10 feet and a thunderous 17-second interval. The sky's dressed in cloudy gray with scattered showers, keeping temperatures hovering around a crisp 55 degrees. Winds are cruising in from the south at 10 to 14 miles per hour, adding some extra texture to an already dynamic marine environment.

Tides are playing their own rhythmic dance today with four distinct movements. Early risers can catch a low tide at just 3.8 to 4.2 feet before sunrise, followed by a robust high tide lifting to 7.5 feet by mid-morning. An afternoon low dip drops to a mere 0.5 feet before a nighttime high tide returns.

Monday's looking slightly mellower but still packed with maritime drama. Wave heights will dial back to 9 to 13 feet with a slight chance of thunderstorms adding some electrical excitement to the mix. Temperatures will cool down to 50 to 55 degrees with southwest winds cranking up to 16 to 17 miles per hour.

But here's the critical warning surfers and beach lovers: these waters are not for the faint of heart. Cold water, sneaker waves, and rip currents are serious life-threatening challenges. Those seemingly innocent waves can suddenly transform into monstrous threats that catch even experienced ocean-goers off guard.

Remain vigilant. Watch the waves. Respect the ocean's power. Stay safe out there, wave riders!
