Long Beach Washington and Portland, OR Surf Report for 04-22-2025

Surf's up, wave riders! Get ready for a wild coastal adventure along the Pacific Northwest shoreline. Today's bringing a gnarly northwest swell that's pumping out 5 to 8-foot waves with some serious power behind them. We're looking at a northwest offshore swell rolling in at 6 feet and a solid 10-second period.

Grab your wetsuit and prepare for mostly cloudy skies with temperatures hovering between 50 and 55 degrees. The wind's gonna be whispering from the northwest at around 8 to 11 miles per hour, just enough to keep things interesting without totally destroying the wave quality.

Tidal action is looking pretty epic today. We've got a morning high tide around 7.3 feet that'll peak early, followed by a low tide dipping down to just 0.8 feet in the afternoon. Evening brings another high tide to play with.

Sunrise kicks off at 6:16 AM, giving you plenty of daylight to catch some killer waves. But listen up - these waters are no joke. Cold currents, sneaker waves, and rip currents are lurking beneath the surface. These unexpected wave monsters can catch even experienced surfers off guard.

Tuesday's looking pretty similar - same swell, slightly different vibe. Expect partly cloudy conditions with temperatures around 55 degrees and winds shifting slightly north. The wave height stays consistent at 5 to 8 feet, so your board's still gonna get a workout.

Pro tip from the local lifeguards: stay alert, watch those waves carefully, and never turn your back on the ocean. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a curious beachcomber, respect the Pacific's power. Stay safe, stay stoked, and ride those waves responsibly!
